Test Code TEGGHHN TEG Heparin Neutralization

Performing lab

RRMC- Rogue Regional Medical Center

Useful For

TEG 6s is a rapid, comprehensive assessment of a patient's hemostasis, which assists
in personalized blood product transfusions and treatments for coagulopathy, or
bleeding disorders. By measuring viscoelastic properties of blood clotting, TEG 6s
provides a complete picture of coagulation, fibrinolysis, and platelet function, leading
to more efficient blood product use, reduced complications, and potentially improved
patient outcomes in settings like major trauma, cardiology procedures, cardiac surgery,
and liver transplants. Results from the TEG 6s analysis should not be the sole basis for
a patient diagnosis, but should be evaluated together with the patient’s medical history,
the clinical picture and, if necessary, further hemostasis tests.
