CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) Submit in sterile screw-cap spinal fluid tube or equivalent
or Plain Red top tube or Yellow (Gold) top tube (SST)
CSF and serum are collected according to standard collection method.
Specimen Minimum Volume
0.5mL for both CSF or Serum
Specimen Stability Information
Serum Centrifuge and refrigerate within 2 hours of collection
Refrigerate at 2°-8°C for up to 72 hrs
If longer storage is required, specimens may be frozen at or below -20ºC.
