Additional Information
Urine urea nitrogen is increased in hyperthyroidism,
post-operatively and with increased dietary protein. It
is
decreased in normal growing children and infants, pregnancy, low
protein, high carbohydrate diets, renal damage and insufficiency
from any cause.
Specimen Transport Temperature and Stability
Send to laboratory refrigerated. It is recommended that urine samples be analyzed within 2 hours of collection.
