Specimen Required

Surgical biopsy is collected and inoculated/embedded into a Remel Selective Rapid Urea medium (within 4 hours of collection) by the endoscopy department.

Specimen Stability Information

Collection must arrive in laboratory within 24 hours.

Tissue samples that cannot be placed in medium within 24 hours may be frozen <70°C for extended storage.

Reject Due To

  • Specimens collected using an expired/incorrect collection kit.
  • Specimens received in laboratory >24 hours after collection.
