Useful For
Evaluation of anemia, leukemia, reaction to inflammation and infections, peripheral blood cellular characteristics, state of hydration and dehydration, polycythemia, hemolytic disease of the newborn and ABO incompatibilities. If the doctor requests a CBC with a manual diff, a manual differential or slide differential is done by a tech. All automated flagged differentials will automatically get a manual diff.

Mix specimen 10 times by gentle inversion.
If specimen is not brought to the laboratory within 4-6 hours, refrigeration is required.
