Yellow (Gold) top tube (SST) (SST must be aliquoted into 1 “plain tube” within 24 hours)
TRMC: Plain Red top tube No SST or PST

Blood level determination of anti-epileptic drugs is often required to achieve maximum benefit from the drug or drugs, while at the same time avoiding toxicity or undesirable side effects. Increasingly being used for generalized and partial seizures, cerebral electrical discharges and the low incidence of acute and chronic toxicity.
Specimen Transport Temperature and Stability
Centrifuge collection tube and refrigerate within 2 hours of collection
Spun SST is stable for 48 hours at 2° to 8° C
