Yellow (Gold) top tube (SST)  Plasma samples not recommended.

 

Required Volume: 0.5 mL

Tubes of blood are to be kept in a vertical position at all
times.
  Centrifuge collection tube and separate within 2 hours
of draw.

Specimen Transport Temperature and Stability

  • Serum samples should be at room temperature no longer than 6 hours, or refrigerate at 2°-8° no longer than 24 hours prior to analysis.
  • If testing delayed >24 hours specimen should be frozen.
