Specimen Required
Collect nasopharyngeal specimen on a sterile, flocked flexible-shaft NP swab and place into 3 mL transport media.
The following transport media is acceptable for use:
- M4 Media
- M4-RT Media
Specimen Stability Information
Specimens should be collected and transported refrigerated. Specimens stable for 7 days at 2-8°C.
Reject Due To
- Specimens recieved exceeding stated stability
- Specimens lacking two patient identifiers
- 1 - Patient's first and last name
- 2 - Patient's date of birth
- Specimens collected using an expired collection kit
- Specimens transported at incorrect temperature
