Useful For

HDL-C levels are an important determinate for the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). This is an inverse
relationship, that is, the higher the HDL-C, the lower the risk for CHD

 

National Cholesterol Education Panel (NCEP) recommends (APTlll):

HDL:

< 40 mg/dl Positive Risk Factor

> 60 mg/dl Negative (protective) Risk Factor

    • 2-Patient's Date of Birth
